SelfyzAI brings AI music-video generation into ChatGPT chats

The MCP integration starts with music videos, retaining a user’s SelfyzAI account and credit balance inside the conversation.

SelfyzAI has added Model Context Protocol support for ChatGPT, allowing users to start an AI music-video generation job from a chat rather than moving to a separate video-creation tool. The launch workflow is limited to MV video generation, though the company said it planned to add further workflows as the integration expands.

Users can attach reference material and describe the desired video in a prompt, specifying such elements as subject, action, setting, mood and camera. Reference images can guide characters, locations or visual style, while the text directs the action. When the generation is complete, the result is presented in the chat, where users can request alterations and receive a new variation that retains the conversation context.

The setup requires users to add the SelfyzAI plugin in ChatGPT, sign in to a SelfyzAI account and invoke it with @SelfyzAI. No API key is required. Work made through the connection draws from the same credit balance as the SelfyzAI web app, rather than a separate MCP allocation; its accompanying command-line interface also connects to the same account for batch jobs, scripts and repeatable terminal workflows.

MCP is an open standard designed to create secure, two-way links between AI-powered tools and external systems. Anthropic, which introduced the protocol in November 2024, said it was intended to replace separate bespoke connectors for individual data sources and tools.

SelfyzAI’s broader MV Agent accepts songs, lyrics, prompts and visual references to build a music video. The company says it analyses lyrics, mood, tempo, emotional shifts and song sections, then can produce assets including a cover, character material, a story outline, storyboards, editable clips and an assembled video. Users can revise individual clips, cover images or character assets without rebuilding the whole project; supported songs run from 15 to 180 seconds.

The company’s MCP page says the connection is designed for compatible AI agents and supports image, video and music-video generation, but the ChatGPT launch begins with music videos alone.
