Skillfully has launched an AI agent-skills platform aimed at turning authors’ and consultants’ methods into subscription products used within ChatGPT and Claude. The company said creators can build the skills without coding, giving subscribers an AI assistant that applies an expert’s approach to specific work rather than simply presenting it as a book, course or consultation.
Each skill converts an expert’s method into instructions that guide the assistant through particular questions, steps and checks. Skillfully supplies publishing support, payments, subscriber access management, delivery and usage analytics, while authors set prices, see where readers encounter difficulty and publish updates for their subscribers.
The company is initially targeting practical nonfiction writers and other experts with established methods and audiences. Its proposition is that a subscription can extend the commercial life of work that might otherwise produce a one-time book sale, while allowing an expert to serve readers who would not become individual consulting clients.
Eren Suner, Skillfully’s founder, said he expected skills to cost about $50 to $100 a month, with higher prices possible for business customers. Skillfully takes a share of sales; its application page says revenue-share arrangements can vary according to whether the author or the company brings in the subscriber.
The platform already powers AI Rob, Rob Snyder’s AI go-to-market adviser for B2B startup founders seeking to grow from zero to $1 million in annual recurring revenue. It applies Snyder’s sales and growth playbooks to calls, deals and outreach, helping users identify omissions and choose next steps. Andy Bandyopadhyay, founder and CEO of Attune, said the product put that guidance into AI tools his team already uses.
Skillfully’s use of the term “skills” sits alongside a wider agent-software approach. Anthropic describes Agent Skills as organized folders of instructions, scripts and resources that an agent can discover and load for relevant tasks, turning a general-purpose assistant into a more specialized one. Anthropic has warned that skills from untrusted sources can create security risks, including instructions to exfiltrate data.
Skillfully is working with a select roster of prospective partners and is accepting applications. Its application process is intended to let the company give each author and work individual attention, and applicants do not need to have built a skill before applying.
